Ouch!

We took Tyler in for his 5-year immunizations after work today. I made it a point not to tell him where we were going until we were about 10 minutes from the ped's office. And that's when the floodgates opened; he begged and pleaded with us not to take him because the shots were going to hurt REALLY bad. I tried to explain to him (in between the alligator tears) that the shots would help keep him from getting sick and that he couldn't go to kindergarten without them. He wasn't buying it. So, the tears continued to fall as we walked into the doc's office and while we sat in the waiting room. Once the nurse put us in an exam room, he was okay (sort of), but when she and one other nurse walked in with the syringes, he lost it again. I was glad that, since he needed two separate injections, they tag-teamed (each took an arm) and gave them simultaneously. About five seconds afterward, he stopped crying and said, "That wasn't so bad." You don't say! :)
