Mom's Day in Carbondale

After Tyler's soccer practice this morning, we headed down to Kay and Aaron's house to celebrate Mother's Day. The only bummer--and it really wasn't that big of a deal--is that they've been without power for two days after an inland hurricane passed through Carbondale and a few of the surrounding towns last Thursday. Thank goodness for gas grills! We still had a yummy lunch: burgers/hot dogs, mac 'n' cheese (on our Coleman stove that we use for camping), potato chips, etc. We had a lot of fun together and enjoyed the nice day outside.

Uncle Aaron is showing Tyler how a leaf blower works.
A nice lunch on a beautiful day!
Yummy Mother's Day cupcakes for dessert.

This is one of those "addictions" that I'm positive I'll never understand!

Our little car lover can turn anything into a road or garage. :)
Connor is really trying his best to get some lovins from Lola.
The Queen Bee is enjoying all of the attention!
It's hard to believe that she's almost 7 months old already!
Tyler was the only baby we knew who always seemed to be smiling--then came Connor. :)
Tyler loves his Uncle Aaron!
Tyler had fun riding on the trailer as Uncle Aaron drove him around the yard, stopping to pick up branches from the terrible storm that passed through a couple of days ago.
Top photo: This huge tree was uprooted by the hurricane-like winds; I can't even fathom wind gusts being that strong!
Bottom photo: There were also LOTS of trees that had fallen and were resting on power lines. The right lane in this photo was actually open about an hour before we took this picture.
