This morning was Tyler's very first soccer practice. What's so great is that we got Coach Dave again (he coached Tyler's basketball team back in January). He's super nice and great with all of the kids. And Tyler was excited that Spencer (Dave's son) is on his team. We weren't sure if Tyler would like soccer or not, since he's never played (or even watched it on TV); but he was totally up for it when I asked if I should sign him up. As it turns out, he's actually pretty good with the ball. He was a little reserved at first, but after a few minutes of warming up with his teammates and doing practice kicks into the goal, he got a little more into it. Then, when it was time for his team to play against another team, he scored the first goal almost immediately. After that, he was very assertive, and wasn't afraid to go after the ball; he even had a couple of steals. :)
After soccer, it was time to hit The Home Depot for the Kids Workshop. Tyler and Lucas had a lot of fun building their window birdhouses with Dave. Then, we ran home, put lunches together for everyone and headed downtown to Kiener Plaza to listen to the SLU Band play during the Women's Final Four festivities. The weather was beautiful and the boys had a good time running around and listening to the music.
To wind down our day, Dave and I headed out to Syberg's (a kareoke bar) with some good friends to watch the Final Four games. Thanks to Mama Carol and Papa Dave for babysitting! :)
The boys thought that the red fountains in Kiener Plaza were really cool (Cards Opening Day is in two days).
