We took Tyler to a SLU game today (one of his fave pastimes) and he was chosen from the stands to participate in a brief dance contest on the basketball court during a time out. He was hesitant at first, but with quite a bit of prodding from his MOM, he finally decided to do it--on one condition. He wanted to be escorted onto the court by his buddy, the Billiken, and one of the SLU cheerleaders (not sure where THAT request came from?!). The other two contestants were college students, so we were told ahead of time that Tyler would likely be the crowd favorite. He was pretty nervous when he was taken onto the court and I was so sure that once it was his turn to dance, he'd be rooted to the spot. Luckily, once the music started and the Billiken began dancing around and being silly, Tyler decided to join in and was met with LOUD cheering and clapping from the spectators. He didn't know what to think when he was told that he won; I think he was pretty much in shock the whole time, but I'm proud of him for doing it. There's no way that you would EVER get me onto center court with 5,000 people watching and expect me to dance. That's what the privacy of my kitchen is for! :)
Not sure what to think with so many people watching him!
The Billiken carried him off of the court after his 15 seconds of fame. :)
Hangin' out with Dad and Mr. Dave.
Tyler really enjoys watching the games with Paige.
